A job platform for truck drivers in the US
NewJobs4You helps truck drivers find work and research carriers. Drivers can compare pay, routes, schedules and requirements, read company reviews and apply for jobs. I also built the admin panel used to manage listings and employers, process applications, moderate reviews and publish articles. It includes page editors and SEO tools for city and state job pages. I developed the entire application from scratch: architecture, database, backend and interfaces. The client provided the requirements and Figma design.

The challenge — Build a job search service and its administration system
The client needed a hiring platform for truck drivers in the United States. Visitors needed to search by location and working conditions, research employers and apply for jobs. The team needed an admin panel for listings, companies, applications, reviews and site content. SEO was a separate part of the scope, including city and state pages, their content and indexing. The starting point was a set of requirements and Figma designs. I was responsible for developing the architecture, database, backend and interfaces from scratch. We worked through the details on calls, agreed on feature behavior and divided development into milestones.
My contribution — Developed the entire application myself
I handled the full technical implementation. I designed the database and APIs, wrote the backend and built the responsive public website from the supplied designs. I implemented search with dependent filters, job and company pages, reviews, applications and message forms. A substantial part of the work was the admin panel: detailed job and employer editors, inquiry management, moderation, roles and an audit log. I also developed the CMS with its block editor, SEO page management and background jobs. Throughout development, I showed the client working features and incorporated the changes we agreed on.
- Architecture and backend
- Designed the database for jobs, employers, locations, specialties, reviews, applications and content. Built the APIs and backend logic for the website and admin panel, including access control and publication rules.
- Interfaces and mobile website
- Built the catalogue, job pages, company profiles, blog and forms from the Figma designs. Adapted navigation, filters and public pages for phones. Built a separate desktop admin interface with tables, editors and settings.
- Search and filters
- Implemented search by location, pay, schedule, experience and equipment. Built dependent filters with result counts and URL persistence. Added admin settings for filter names, grouping, order and visibility.
- Platform administration
- Built sections for jobs, companies, reviews, applications and messages. Added publication states and expiry dates, media uploads, access control and an audit log. The company editor covers hiring, benefits, fleet information, contacts and other profile sections.
- CMS and page editors
- Created a block editor supporting text, images, video, tables, FAQs and catalogue selections. Implemented author, category and publication management, plus editors for information pages and website sections.
- SEO and background jobs
- Developed pages for states, cities and specialties in a location. Implemented metadata and indexing controls, sitemap generation, vacancy expiry processing and a notification queue. Configured application services to run in Docker.
Inside the platform
Job search and filters
Drivers choose a location and narrow the catalogue by pay, job type, home time, experience and equipment. Each listing shows the employer and key terms. Visitors can open a job for its full description or visit the carrier’s profile. I built dependent search filters: selecting a state changes the available options and job counts. Selected criteria are stored in the URL, so a search can be shared or reopened later. Filters can be removed individually or cleared together. Their names, order and visibility are managed in the admin panel.
Job details, applications and messages
Job pages describe pay, schedules, requirements, benefits, equipment and routes. They also show employer information and contact options. Visitors can open the company profile, apply for the job or ask a question using a separate form. Drivers can apply without registering. They provide contact details, CDL class, experience and location, and may attach a résumé. I developed both forms and their backend processing. Applications and messages are stored in the admin panel with links to the relevant job and employer.
Company profiles and driver reviews
I built detailed carrier profiles covering the business, hiring conditions, benefits, policies, fleet, photos and contacts. Profiles also display open positions. The team maintains this information through the company editor in the admin panel. I implemented reviews with an overall score and ratings for individual working conditions. Drivers can specify their role and employment period, write a review and attach proof of employment. The admin panel controls review publication, and published scores contribute to the company rating.
Admin panel and data management
I built the admin panel for jobs, companies, reviews, applications and messages. Staff can find records, check their status and open an editor. Jobs have expiry dates and publication settings. Company profiles have separate sections for hiring, pay, benefits, equipment, addresses, contacts and media. The panel also includes reference data and filter settings. Staff roles determine access, and changes are recorded in an audit log. The admin interface is designed for desktop use, with large tables and detailed forms.
Blog and website content management
I developed a CMS with a block editor for articles. Editors can combine text, images, video, tables, FAQs and job or company selections. They can reorder blocks and set the cover, author, categories, publication date and metadata. The public blog groups articles by category, and articles include a table of contents. Job and company selections draw from the catalogue. The CMS also manages information pages, hero sections and other website sections, allowing the team to edit them without changing code.
City and state pages, and SEO settings
I developed job pages for states, cities and combinations of location and specialty. They display relevant vacancies, companies and editorial content. The admin panel provides content, metadata and section settings for these pages. I implemented indexing controls based on page content and sitemap generation. Search page updates are tied to catalogue data and vacancy expiry dates. The team manages these pages through the admin panel alongside the rest of the site content.
Technical implementation
I built the public website and admin panel with Next.js and TypeScript, and the API with Python and FastAPI. Data is stored in PostgreSQL and accessed through SQLAlchemy. The backend processes searches, applications and messages, checks permissions and applies publication rules. Separate background processes handle vacancy expiry, search page updates, sitemap generation and the notification queue, with Redis used for background processing. Application services run in Docker.
